Will I loose weight starting a vegan diet?

I want to start a vegan diet, will i loose any weight, if i do, how much?? Thankss 10 points best answerr!!Will I loose weight starting a vegan diet?
Well, umm here.

They way the body works, skipping most of the biology terms, you eat food, and the sugar that can easily be turned into energy is taken straight to the blood where it is given to the cells that make energy with it.

Carbohydrates are complex sugars that can be broken down easily into sugars that are used this way, hence sugar gives you fast energy that is followed by a crash when your body is finished processing it. And a peace of bread is what you want before a hike because it gives you fast energy because of the carbs in it, but it isn't processed as quickly as straight sugar is, so no crash.

Now, on to fat.

Fat is used in two ways in the body. One is to make the phospholipid The phospholipid bilayer (cholesterol), which is the bag that holds the cells insides in, the other is to store energy. The body likes to use fat as a last resort for energy, so it burns carbs first, and stores the fat to use for later. The idea behind a gluten free diet is that by not providing the sugars that the body likes to burn first, it will resort to burning fat. Also, Cholesterol is a form of fat that is for the most part good because it is used in a functional form in cell membranes, too much cholesterol in your diet that ends up being a heath risk because is causes clogging in arteries, which lead to higher blood pressure and eventually stroke. Cholesterol is kept down by not eating too much fat and by keeping active, because the body choses to burn carbs and cholesterol type fat before stored fat as well.

now, on to proteins, the entire idea behind meat is to supply the body with the building blocks that it need to build it's own proteins, the same thing goes for veggies, they supply the nutrients the body needs to grow or build muscle. White meat is good because it serves this purpose, red meat isn't because it is overly high in cholesterol.

Calories are a form of how much energy is stored in food, so in carbs and sugary things it is high, and in fatty things, like chips, the calorie count is also high because fat is a form that energy is stored in.

You lose weight by keeping a fairly low intake of carbs and fat, so no soda, candy, chips, red meat, butter, cheese, pizza, and other such foods except as rare treats, and by rare I mean very low, as in maybe indulge once a month.

To keep your cravings under control you can eat a decent amount of things like oj and yogurt that are processed (and therefor have a lot more sugar then necessary).

Heathy things to eat are wheat bread because it is full of nutrients that keep you building muscle instead of sugar that keeps you building fat, veggies, white meat, fruits that are a high energy sugary food, but are also full of nutrients that you need so are good, unlimited spices, in fact spicy food is good because it speeds up your metabolism., and olive oil which is decently heathy because it is a different kind of fat then your body needs to burn.

Now, the part you didn't want to hear, exercise. This is good for a boat load of reasons, but the two you care most about are it,1, Burns calories, hopefully if you are eating right, come from your stored fat, making it go away. And 2, build muscle, witch not only looks good but also burns more fat.

If you are really out of shape you can start with something like five pushups on a chair, then go to 10 on the ground once the five get easy. Then once you start losing weight, you can move to a more serious work out like a half mile run. And work your way up to more.

Diet advice

Ignore that ******* scale in the corner that is mocking you, because as you build muscle, you will get heavier at the start, then lose the pounds

Stay motivated, or buy a lab puppy that needs a walk and will keep you on your feet for at least an hour a day, use exercise as a stress reliever

don't starve yourself, that only puts your body into starve mode, where it burns fat as slowly as it possibly can

Don't gorge yourself either, there are websites that will give you the # of portions you should eat a day. A portion is roughly the size of your palm

Swim!!! It is good exercise and doesn't make you so damn sore as running

Salt, I nearly forgot about it, a little is good, a lot will make you retain water, it isn't really a good thing though.

Popcorn and dark chocolate are good too, along with Milk! It provides you with the calcium to keep your bones strong. You might want to try low fat or skim milk though.

So, In summary, here鈥檚 the top 8 tips

1. exercise enough to keep your metabolism running and build muscle

2. Watch carbs and fat and sugar in your diet

3. eat lean meats, white meats, eggs for protein

4. veggies are your friends

5. fruit is your friend

6. stay motivated(by dog i recommend.

7. popcorn, dark chocolate, gum, and tea are yummy, don鈥檛 forget them

8. plaster a smile on your face and just do it.

Not necessarily. Its actually very easy to gain weight because a lot of vegan foods are not very filling so you tend to eat more, and most processed foods and sweets are still available for vegans/vegetarians. You still need to watch what you eat and exercise plenty, as well as make sure that you're getting enough vitamins/proteins/etc.

The biggest thing with losing weight is looking at your calorie intake.
