What does the average vegetarian/vegan diet consist of?

I don't want do sound like a hypocrite, but I'm doing a project for debate opposing vegetarianism, and I need to know what I'm facing. Thanks!!What does the average vegetarian/vegan diet consist of?
Vegan:

Whole grains

Legumes and beans

Vegetables

Fruits

We eat a good deal of soy, as it's one of just a few plant based complete proteins, or we combine proteins, like peanut butter on whole wheat bread, or beans and brown rice to receive the essential amino acids.

We drink soy milk and other foods which are fortified with B-12. It's a myth that vegetarians suffer from protein deficiencies, and we're generally thinner and less susceptible to cancer, diabetes and heart disease. On average, we live longer than meat eaters.

Good luck with your project, you've got an uphill battle going for you. What does the average vegetarian/vegan diet consist of?
My diet consists of a huge variety of vegetables, fruits, beans, grains, nuts, and to a modest extent I also include vegetable and nut-based oils. I'm into bodybuilding so I consume plenty of food throughout the day.

I'm sorry you had to oppose vegetarianism...honestly you won't be able to make a legit argument. Everything that meat offers, dairy/eggs/plants also offer, it's better for your health, it's better for the planet, and it's cheaper (provided you lay off the processed BS).

And to Dude, just because you don't know how to stick to a dietary change doesn't mean the rest of the world lacks willpower and health knowledge like yourself.
Well its what everyone likes theirs no right or wrong answer. Some people are vegetarian and eat some fish or maybe chicken or dairy and some people dont eat any meat, or seafood or any dairy which means their vegetarian and vegan. Its just everyones preferences you can still call yourself a vegetarian even though you might eat seafood or something, just like people that say your not a veg if you eat stuff that has chicken flavor in it or something, that doesnt mean that your not a vegetarian it just means some people wouldnt eat that because they have parts in their that may have come from an animal but theirs no meat in their. I have always thought of a vegetarian like myself of someone that doesnt eat any meat but it can vary and everyone has different opinions on it. My own personal diet since everyones different, consists of a lot of pasta such as macaroni and cheese, angel hair pasta, spaghetti with marinara sauce anything thats pasta and that you can get with tomato sauce. Sometimes I'll eat veggie wraps and I eat a lot of mashed potatoes and garlic bread and corn and other vegetables, stuff like that. Good luck! What does the average vegetarian/vegan diet consist of?
A large variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts and legumes. Not only that but some vegetarian diets consist of a lot of what omnivores eat just without meat. E.g. lasagna, enchiladas, burritos, burgers and lasagna. Tofu is a good meat replacement.

Ever since I quit meat I've explored my options and now eat a wider variety of foods I would have never tried while I was eating meat.

You've got quite a challenge on your hands. The only argument I would have against a vegetarian is you don't indulge in tasty meats...which most definitely is easily rebutted.
I think you will find more variety in diet in people who are vegan/vegetarian than in many other groups.

Diet vary because people do it for different reasons...Met at guy once who was vegetarian because he was a allergic to a preservative that they put in meat...

Needless to say, processed food and soy make big bucks. Investors have made sure that vegans/vegetarians are not exempt from eating this crap...

If you want to know, I am a gluten free, soy free Raw veganWhat does the average vegetarian/vegan diet consist of?
Why do you think anyone here would want to help you? Your opponent should definitely win. :) You obviously have the largest resource (the internet) right at your fingertips. Do your own research %26amp; learn something. Maybe you'll change sides.
we eat hay and rocks.... honestly, read a book you may surprised to find that you may end up being for vegetarianism.
animal crackers
if you are against it make the point that they don't always get the vitamins they need. protein and iron are harder to find in vegetables because the easiest way to get them is to eat meat.

most vegetarians eat vegetables, sometimes soy products (like veggie burgers, veggie chicken nuggets, etc.) and fruits and then depending on the person what types of bread and things they eat. pretty much anything that doesn't have meat for vegetarians and for vegans nothing that involves animal products. so that includes eggs and milk and things
Around people it's soy burgers and veggies. Behind closed doors, it's business as usual, Pizza, Steaks, Hamburgers, and Ham.
