Questions about vegan diet?

I am thinking of becomming a vegan, if you are one can you help me with some helpful tips, I realy don't eat meat very much at all, just hamburger and meat on holiday's. is it wiser to take vitamins also with this type of diet ?Questions about vegan diet?
Becoming vegan is easy if you have the desire and if your preferences follow in that way (if you prefer eating non-meat/dairy items anyway).

Don't worry about missing out on anything. A normal vegan diet supplies the body with much more nutrients than a convention meat eater's diet.

You dont need to make any special effort to get the protein and calcium you need. A vegan absorbs more calcium than someone who consumes dairy products. Numerous studies have shown eating dairy products introduces foreign enzymes and lactose into the body, which inhibits the body's ability to absorb calcium.

I've been vegan my whole life, I'm one of the strongest people I know. My doctor says I'm his healthiest patient. I have not been sick (not even a cold) since I was about 5 years old (kindergarten I got the flu, that's it).

Good luck. Don't listen to people who don't know what they are talking about.Questions about vegan diet?

You will miss out on some of the Essential "E" Vitamins and enzymes that come from a Balanced Diet!

Do you eat Yogurt? That is one of the best digestion enzymes that you can add to a diet!

yah you could start as a vegetarian then become vegan when you get used to it. just be careful to get enough protein. you don't need huge amounts, but it is important. try different kinds of tofu products, like smart dogs or imitation meat, which are high in protein. eat lots of nuts, whole grains, and beans. also, try eating 5 or 6 small meals instead of 3 large ones. it's possible to be a healthy vegan, but you have to be much more attentive and careful than with an omnivorous diet. iron supplements might be good too. good luck!
maybe you should try being vegetarian first, vegan takes ALOT of work as you can't eat anything with milk, eggs or bi products of those. I am a vegetarian, I would find veganism very difficult. My sister was vegetarian for 9 years before moving to vegan. Think about why you want to do this as well.Questions about vegan diet?
Well, it depends. If you know you won't watch every little nutrient, then yes. If you're a health freak, then you may not need them. Many health stores will have a specifically formulated vitamin for these kinds of diets. Check out your local health stores and talk to the employees about what's the best.
