Starting the vegan diet?

I'm thinking about starting the Vegan diet. I need a list of foods that I cannot eat on the Vegan diet. I know meats, but I've also heard flour and certain other things so I would appreciate a plain, cut and dry list of what I cannot have on this diet.Starting the vegan diet?
it is almost impossible to make a list of everything you can not eat but to start you can not eat eggs ,egg noodles , macaroni and cheese of any type to include raviolis, manicotti, no parmigiana on eggplant and make sure they do not bread using eggs as well , any fried foods where the batter uses eggs , no Caesar salads (anchovies) and watch your dressings, no french onion soup(beef broth), no cream soups(usually milk),most Chinese soups have chicken stock..I get vegetable tofu only from my place I know what is in it , no chow mein made with chicken stock, no white sugar(there are only a couple that have no bone char for filtering), no cheese ..so no grilled cheese, no sandwiches with mozzarella or any cheese, no butter , many rice pilafs are made with chicken stock, bean dishes you must ask if they use lard ,no pop tarts with icing (gelatin) cakes(except those that are parve vegetarian), cookies(unless they are vegan),..you want to avoid all foods with butter, cheese , dairy, casein, eggs, gelatin, most Pillsbury biscuits and cookies(animal fats),many breads contain animal fats as well..use whole grains or whole wheat, spelt and still read...if it looks like it has butter , it probably does....I hope this helps you to start but as I say it is impossible.....they hide these ingredients in many foods..you have to watch, question and ask before you eat anything out many will have butter or dairy but the chef will always be able to tell you ..Starting the vegan diet?

wheat? no you can eat wheat in a vegan diet, you must be thinking of the vegan s who are allergic to meat. You cant eat gelatin, meat, eggs, dairy, honey beeswax etc. No using leather, fur, or even wool.

You can eat anything that does not come from an animal.

anything else, wheat, quinoa, other grains, nuts, mushrooms, soy, legumes, fruits, veggies the list goes on... Even nutritional yeast, which has a cheesy flavor and is nutritious. Or seitan which has a meaty texture.

sounds like you should stick to a vegetarian diet with no eggs, meat, cheese, or milk, and work your way up to vegan from there
There are no set rules. Eat what works for you. I live a totally vegan lifestyle with two exceptions. I consider milk from a well cared for and pampered cow to be a gift. Same for eggs from healthy, happy, free range chickens. The cow would become engorged if not milked, and gladly gives it up. An egg is unfertilized and is discarded by the hen, and would go to waste if left lying on the ground. I am sadly allergic to eggs, but have no guilt issues in fixing them for my daughter. Just another way of looking at the vegan stance. A true vegan will not wear any clothes (leather, wool) from an animal, or use products that are tested on animals, such as shampoos and cosmetics. Don't try to fit into a neat little box-there are no vegan police going to show up on your doorstep if you make exceptions to suit yourself. Even by going vegetarian, you don't support the needless slaughter of animals. Good luck!

edit: raw milk can be skimmed and churned into butter and homemade cheese-you can get it from a local food co op
