How does being a Vegetarian or Vegan affect diet?

I am doing Health and Social Care and I was wondering about what effect not eating meat or animal products would have on some ones diet. I know that they need to have some protein from other sources like an egg; to substitute the protein from meat that they miss out on. What other differences would there be?How does being a Vegetarian or Vegan affect diet?
You can get protein from legumes %26amp; tofu. You can get calcium %26amp; iron from veggies.

A balanced diet of fresh fruit, veggies, tofu %26amp; legumes means a meat/fat free diet that encourages good internal health, avoiding obesity, colon %26amp; bowel cancers, diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure %26amp; heart disease. How does being a Vegetarian or Vegan affect diet?

A healthier diet. Meat has nothing in it that benefits humans. I am not one to pull "malnutrition facts" out of my a$$. We weren't created to eat meat, it's just mankind became used to it's imperfection and thus evolved by doing so. Vegetarian %26amp; Vegans have up to a 57% less chance of developing heart disease and various cancers often related to eating meat. The abundance of fiber also contributes to less of a risk to develop colon cancer and a regulated digestive tract. Vegetarians %26amp; Vegans attain much more necessary nutrients, minerals %26amp; vitamins than the common meat-eater b/c meat eater's tend to by-pass plant foods. Soy and Tofu are amongst many alternatives to meat that provide much more benefits. Flaxseed Oil is a substitute for Fish-oil, without the contaminants and Mercury, PCB's that are usually found in fish. Meat in general kills, how can you attain life from eating dead flesh? How does being a Vegetarian or Vegan affect diet?
Not eating meat means a diet lower in saturated fat and cholesterol. It means not eating the hormones, antibiotics and arsenic that are fed to animals on factory farms.

Protein is not a concern, as all foods have protein and a varied diet with enough calories will have enough protein.

Did you know that more then 75% of American high school students are not getting their RDA of a minimum of 5 fruits and veggies? Most people are deficent in in vitamins, and by eating more fruits and veggies (as a proper vegetarian does) you're getting what you need.

There are no vitamins lacking in a well done vegetarian diet.

The risk of obesity, diabetes, high cholesterol, heart disease and some forms of cancer is lower for those on a vegetarian diet.

razzledazzle- Please do some basic research before making such untrue claims. While vegans need make sure they are getting B-12, it's not a problem for vegetarians. Iron is easily available in greens, beans, nuts, seeds and the anemia rates of vegetarians are no different then those of omnivores. Your body makes coenzyme Q10 all on its own. Conjugated linoleic acid is a non essential amino acid.
