Do you think the reason it's healthy is because it's raw or because it's vegan, or both. What do you think makes a well-panned well balanced raw vegan diet so healthy?
A well-planned, well-balanced diet is a healthy diet. Doesn't have to to be raw, doesn't have to be vegan. Your typo (well panned) gave me a laugh though
No scientific qualifications are needed to know that neither a raw diet nor a vegan diet - or a raw vegan diet - will prevent cancer. The causes of most cancers are not known, and no food has been proven to cause, contribute to, prevent, treat, cure or affect the progress of cancer. FACT. Vegans are as susceptible to cancer as as anyone else.
Diabetes is not reversible. It can be controllable through medication and/or diet; the first line of treatment for type 2 diabetes is control by diet. And poor diet is not the cause of diabetes.
And Robomonk, I am in possession of these facts because I am a vegan whose diet includes a large percentage of raw food, and while a vegan have been diagnosed with both cancer and type 2 diabetes.
Jordan, when you ask a questioin like this you should really provide some evidence - as it is you have asked a closed question that can only really be answered by people who hold the same opinion and make the same assumptions as you do. Any diet - vegan, vegetarian, a diet including meat, a diet that is raw or otherwise, is healthy if it is well-balanced. That's the meaning of well-balanced.

Edit** Thank you exsft. I agree that it is criminally irresponsible to go on the world wide web and give misinformation about a serious and life-threatening illness. I don't blame people for knowing zilch about diabetes or cancer - nor did I before my diagnoses. But then I would never have been so arrogant or presumptuous as to tell people who did have the illness how to avoid or cure it.
Reverse diabetes my @rse. What diabetics neeed to CONTROL the condition is constant and immediate control of blood sugars. The longer the blood sugars are high, the more damage is done to the system, some of which is not repairable. While people mess about trying raw vegan diets in the belief this will reverse diabetes, or even that this alone will control their blood glucose, the remaining high blood sugars are killing them.
Off the top of my head without consulting any information I have, I can think of a few food items a raw vegan might eat which, especially if eaten alone, could send blood glucose levels up - bananas, watermelon, mango, grapes, melon, pineapple, beetroot.

=========What do you think makes a well-panned well balanced raw vegan diet so healthy?
both
it reverses diabetes, prevents cancer.
raw food has more vitamins, still has all the enzymes,
raw foods are alive and contain the lifeforce, while cooked foods are dead
It is believed by many that enzymes (proteins that assist with chemical reactions) are destroyed when raw foods are heated above a certain temperature (108-115 degrees Fahrenheit), thus requiring the human body to use its own enzymes to break down cooked foods.

Both, and also, it eliminates all the junk food from your diet, so you are eating just fruit, veggies, nuts %26amp;seeds and legumes. These contain all the nutrients e.t.c you need and no unhealthy fats e.t.c that are in junk food.
You can be an uhealthy vegan, but it is extremely difficult to be an unhealthy raw vegan.
I was a raw vegan for 5 years, now I am just vegan. It requires alot of self discipline. What do you think makes a well-panned well balanced raw vegan diet so healthy?
Neither. Any well planned diet is healthy. That's what "well planned" means.
"prevents cancer."--more nonsense.
Robo-please. I'm smart enough to know that the "studies" you kids get your info. from isn't scientific research. It's questionnaires. Studies are questionnaires. They ask a bunch of people a bunch of questions and then tally up the answers. The questions are often skewed in one direction or another, there's no way to verify anybody's answers are truthful and there's no way to verify what info. is not included when the "studies" findings are published.
SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH hasn't proven that ANY food or drink causes cancer, no matter what the studies done by your veger gurus show.
Celtic-6'5" and 185 lbs.?? That's a stick. From what I know the proper weight is 215.

What's your background in science again? Is it none? I'm not going to comment because I don't know about raw diets, but it seems like you don't either. Generally people ask questions hoping that someone who knows more than them on a certain subject will answer them, but you don't know what you're talking about. What do you think makes a well-panned well balanced raw vegan diet so healthy?
The phrase "well balanced" makes it obvious and answers your own question. That is like asking "What makes a man with a lot of money financially wealthy".
hahaha someone finally pointed it out that one answerer does not really answer questions though he likes quotes to make it appear he is smart. Yahoo deleted at least about 12 of your answers and questions in the last two weeks which means they don't think much of you or your "knowledge" either.
The ADA says foods with ham, turkey and beef make for a healthy snack for kids. That and the ADA published book "The Healthy Beef Cookbook" pretty much kills your copy paste answer about the ADA.
Oreos? I am not a vegan but I will save you some anguish later. don't eat the oreos if you want to be a vegan. read the ingredients for the filling. its sugar and lard.
Great question.
A raw vegan diet is healthy because it's alkaline, and gives the body the use of its own energy (instead of digesting) to detox itself.
Eating soy and other products like you say causes acidity which leads to disease.
Everyone needs to learn about free radicals and antioxidants, before they can start talking about health.
I have brought this up before, and I didn't say that people should be 100% raw, I'm not, but when people get sick the raw diet is best.

LOL MY personal trainer finds lots of overweight Veggies/Vegan for just the reasons you stated.... TOO MUCH fat in their diets.
I am Vegan with a high RAW in my diet keep my fat intake 20% or less daily. Key is eating lots of fresh foods, the fat in my diet is mostly natural (unprocessed) Nuts, Seeds, Avocados though I do eat Extra Virgin Olive Oil too.
Many people flat out eat too much. Overly processed food requires you to eat more to feel full, then you have consumed too many calories to burn off in a normal day. On top of that those same foods offer very little nutrition so then the person is malnourished %26amp; obese.
So much so that doctors have even changed the weight/height charts. If one weighs what they should they look "skinny" up side the average person.
Take me for example I am 5'2" the old charts have me at about 100lbs. the new ones let me weigh 130lbs. before I'm considered heavy.. take is a huge difference.
Here is a chart by the famous heart doctor, from his newsletter. He uses the old charts for his patients.

It does not have the 'emotional' energy of meat. Stressed meat is full of toxin and provides numerous sickness.
I agree with one of the writers that any diet is ok, providing it is well balanced, organic and in harmony with the body that absorbs the nutrients provided.
Obesity is found in all diets as are every other terminal diseases. Having said that, India is the only country in the world, to date, where they do not have Alzheimer. They put this down to their 'cinnamon'.
In Japan a dish 'NATTO' made of fermented beans, is considered a preventative of all sorts, the macrophage that heals all. It is a required taste and takes time to adjust, but once accustomed to it, indeed appears to cleanse the system in a matter of days.
I am sure that for each disease there is a natural cure. We just have not yet found all the right properties, although death in the end is inevitable, no matter how healthy a life and how far we can prolong the living.
A Vegan diet provides ample oxidants which creates a healthy blood circulation. The greener or darker the vegetables the better.
"Generally people ask questions hoping that someone who knows more than them on a certain subject will answer them"
Then why do you answer any questions, ever? I don't think i've ever actually seen you answer someone's question. You just take people's quotes and insert your own flawed ideas.
