Take it one step at a time. A vegan diet is a great way to lose weight, because you are cutting out all animal products, mainly meat and dairy. Both of those food groups contribute fat, fat, fat to your diet (along with other health risks!)



You can be vegan and be unhealthy, so make sure you're also cutting out things like soda, caffeine, and junk food.



*You must incorporate exercise into your life to be healthy*



As long as you eat a good combination of whole grains, fruits, soy, legumes, and nuts, you will be happy and healthy (and yes, skinnier!)



Avoid eating out until you have been "vegan" (or are settled on your choices) for a while. Restaurants are difficult to navigate if you're just learning the ropes.



I would highly recommend visiting GoVeg.com for some information. They have wonderful recipes and a list of kitchen staples that can get you started on the right foot.



You might want to start slow.. ie: pick a goal of something to cut out every week. And realize that you can eat anything you want. Knowing that, it's easier to say no to things, strangely.



Pick up a vegan cookbook. Plenty are available.

get the vegetarian magazine for a bunch of awesome recipes, ( i dont know what your into) there are substitutions to meat that taste almost exactly the same! its just like your eating meat. vegan cupcakes are yumm :D meat can be soo fatty its gross!!!

breakfast = LUNA bar

lunch- salad

snack- fruit

Go for it. You can do it. But incorporate exercise. Especially weight lifting as it will keep your metabolism up.
