Is it a bad idea to do workout with weights while on a vegan diet?

I was thinking to try a vegan diet for awhile to cut down on body fat and see how it makes me feel. Since the protein and calcium intake will be substantially reduced from my meat and diary type diet, should I stop my weight lifting and stick to just cardio workouts?Is it a bad idea to do workout with weights while on a vegan diet?
You can get plenty of complete protein from a vegan diet by combining bread, cereals, pasta or rice with beans, peas, lentils or nuts. This is known as protein complementing.

Vegan bodybuilding is quite common as you can see in http://au.search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=A鈥?/a>Is it a bad idea to do workout with weights while on a vegan diet?
Being vegan doesn't mean changing your lifestyle in that sense, if you enjoy working it out keep doing it. You also don't need to take any supplements a healthy diet is much more important. (even if your not vegan)

Always be sure you are getting enough nutrients for your lifestyle but this applies to everyone not just vegetarians/vegans.

Some good info sources to ensure your getting enough protein if it's worrying you;

However if what your actually trying to do is cut down body fat, I would suggest first of all look at whether it's healthy to - this is a good site to start with

And if you do want to go ahead with fat reduction you want to cut down on carbs more than anything, lean protein is a healthy part of this type of diet, with whole grain pulses/rice and plenty of cardio then as your body fat comes down - increase the weights.Is it a bad idea to do workout with weights while on a vegan diet?
