If you think NOT please give me a scientific reason (not your personal reason) as to why.
Also, if you find something on vegan pet food please give me the link because you're not going to be able to talk me out of it.Can my dog live off a home made vegan diet?
After reading many of the answers to your question, I felt the need to weigh in. Dogs are not carnivores. They are omnivores. Cats are the only land mammals who are true carnivores. Unlike other mammals, cats cannot synthesize their own taurine from other building block amino acids the way that dogs and humans can, so they must get it from their diet.
Is it natural to feed your dog a vegan diet? Well, if you knew what was in most commercial pet foods, you'd never feed it to your dog or cat. Slaughterhouse waste, euthanized cats and dogs (with flea collars still on), and roadkill are just a few of the unsavory ingredients that are part of your pet's diet when you feed them one of any number of popular brands of commercial meat-based pet foods. I don't think that any of these ingredients can be considered natural, and they're certainly not healthful. Yet, this is what most of the people who tell you that you must feed your dog meat are feeding their own pets. So it isn't surprising to note that the veterinary industry is thriving and millions of dogs and cats are suffering from a multitude of health issues related to poor diet. For the full eye-opening truth about the commercial pet food industry, get your hands on a copy of the book, Foods Pets Die For by Ann N. Martin.
Both my dog and two cats are vegan. And I have raised vegan dogs and cats before, each of whom lived vibrant, long, healthy lives. The important thing is that your companion animal has all of its nutritional requirements met. Since it sounds like you have already made the decision to feed your dog a healthy, cruelty-free diet, please just make sure you include a supplement like Vegedog, and try to steer clear of common food allergens like wheat, soy, and corn, which is sounds like you are already doing. And you're definitely on the right track with flaxseed oil, as Omega-3 fatty acids are important for your dog's healthy skin and coat. Can my dog live off a home made vegan diet?
Live? Yes.
Thrive? Maybe not so much.
Dogs are carnivores. They don't share your political views.
They require meat proteins.
There are several fish varieties you can add to your recipe if that's not as bothersome to you...in fact, it can even be better for them.
Good luck.
I don't know, but I always wonder about people who choose to keep carnivores but want to put them on a vegan diet. Why not get a hamster or something. Dogs are carnivores. Anyway, here is a link that might help you and your dog get the best vegan/vegetarian diet help out there. I hope you find out what you need! :)

If we can't talk you out of it, then why bother to even ask for reasons why you shouldn't do it? You're just wanting all the anti-vegans to come in and say you're an idiot. Which you are. How sad your dogs ancestors must be to see him eating veggies when they tore apart raccoons.
Honestly, if you're giving them protein supplements, your dog could live off it. It's just pretty lame though that you're cooking food for your dog.
No. Dogs are carnivores. (Not even omnivores, CARNIVORES.) Dogs cannot digest plant matter unless it's pureed, they lack the digestive enzymes to break down plant matter.

As a pet owner, it's your job to do what's best for the pet, including feeding it a proper diet. If you want a vegan pet, get a rabbit.
It is selfish and neglectful to feed a dog a vegan diet.
ADD:
Gail D is sadly mistaken thinking dogs are omnivores. That's a myth spread by the dog food industry and animal rights groups to convince people to feed their pets vegan diets. You cannot say that an animal that cannot even *digest* plant matter naturally is an omnivore!

.Can my dog live off a home made vegan diet?
They probably could, but thats quite unfair on the dog because:
- they haven't evolved to be vegan
- meat helps stimulate a strong healthy body
If I were you, I wouldn't make or feed ur dog as if it were vegan.
Your dog can live on a vegan diet, but he will never be as healthy as he will eating meat. Dogs are carnivores. That means that their system was created to handle meat. Vegetables are harder to digest than meat. In fact, if you want a dog to lose weight, you feed it vegetables because they are harder to digest and simply go to waste in the dog's gut. (make him feel full, but offer few or no calories) If you insist on feeding only vegetables, you will need to do frequent blood work to analyze which nutrients may be lacking. Feed a high quality vitamin mineral supplement, and be sure the animal is getting the amino acids and omega's that are so essential in a carnivore's diet. Fish oil can help for this, but then, fish are animals too, so you might object to that. Have you considered adopting a rabbit? they are meant to be vegetarians.
I'm not sure if they can survive or not... i know they sell vegan dog food on peta for about 20 dollars a can (a little pricey) you probably should ask your vet depending on the level of activity if it's a pretty "lazy" dog, maybe... and probably feed a little bit extra to make sure he has all the calories he needs but if it's a very active big dog i do not recommend it
You could, but that would be EVIL, because dogs are C-A-R-N-I-V-O-R-E-S! They eat M-E-A-T!! They need protein in their diet, so unless you find a magic protein potion, it won't work!
Dogs need meat to be healthy.
Dogs eat meat
Rabbits eat veggies.
