Anyone tried the raw vegan diet?

I am already vegan, but wanting to lose weight. I thought about trying the raw vegan diet. What would you eat for breakfast? It seems you can't eat beans raw, so I guess that means no beans? What about soy milk and other soy products? No bread?

Serious answers only, please.Anyone tried the raw vegan diet?
Lara Bars are raw but loaded with calories so be careful. Eat some nuts and seeds(soaked is best) and dried fruit in your salads. You can sprout the beans and lightly steam them. no soy. Sprouted wheat (whole wheatberries, soak overnight, drain, rinse 1-2x a day for 1-3 days) put into the food processor with S-blade turns into a dough! Cook at the lowest heat in your oven for 2-3 hours to make manna bread(considered raw). Foods that don't reach a temp. of 110 are still raw. Delicious! You can add raisins or whatever if you want. Make warm raw soup by blending veggies and spices in the blender with hot water. Yum. Go to fatfreekitchen.com. It is a vegetarian site and has a guide for 1200, 1500, and 1800 calorie vegetarian diets. Good luck--raw is the ultimate diet if done right. Raw cookbook: Rainbow Green Live Food Cuisine. Jethro Kloss' books"Back to Eden" and

"The Back to Eden Cookbook" are excellent sources for raw fooding as well as giving many wonderful recipes for things like dehydrated breads, cookies, etc.

Good luck

I believe a lot of this is raw vegan...soy milk is cooked juice from soy beans (there are bad stuff in raw beans that don't digest good or something..)..there might be a way you could do some sort of "sun" bread or "sun" soymilk like they do "sun" tea, but I am not aware of that...I am not a raw food vegan, but was a vegetarian for 20+ years, and working on getting back to that...this website has a lot of raw food vegan recipes...look at the left side for categories..raw recipes are labeled as such and mixed in with other recipes...

I wouldnt, i would eat a half raw food half cooked diet. Plenty of salad, raw nuts and fruit is great, but some cooked food is good.

I tried this for about 2 years when it wasn't very well know. I ended up just eating seeds %26amp; berries because I learned so much about what was in the food %26amp; I got way over the edge as far as my eating habits went (or didn't). There was no soy milk back then (in the 70's) %26amp; very little in the way of soy products. When I gave up cooked beans, I switched to BEAN SPROUTS! They are a great substitute for your beans because they ARE baby beans %26amp; you get the living plant instead of just the bean! I don't remember ever having bread. Just fresh food. I had to give it up. I couldn't do all the prep work %26amp; growing my own food was easier than finding it in a market back then. It was fun. I've gotten a bit lazy over the years %26amp; that's ok.
There really isnt a standard raw vegan diet-each person has individual nutritional requirements. I eat about 80 percent raw, and the rest lightly steamed or grilled. I am allergic to wheat, eggs, soy, and other foods, so I am basically forced to make other choices. For breakfast, I eat oatmeal or cream of rice with berries and cashews, or some fresh fruit with raw yogurt (raw milk, or rice or almond milk) Homemade sprouts are fun as a hobby, and go far beyond the boring old mung or alfalfa sprout. I sprout fennungreek, radish, clover, sunflower, chickpea, chia (think chia pet) brocolli, peas, lentils, etc. (you can get seeds at most health food stores-they sprout in 2 to 3 days. They are awesome in salads, juices, recipes, etc. You can make a raw hummus with sprouted chick peas. I lost over 40 pounds in just over 2 months (unintentionally-the pounds just rolled off) Good luck-just keep in mind it doesnt have to be an all or nothing proposition-eat the majority of foods raw, but continue to enjoy some of the things you like.
theres a book called RAW the uncook book by juliano. its very interesting. im not on the raw diet but i occasionally try recipes from this book. cheers
i have, for 1 month or 2 i am not sure

i drink a cucumber juice for bk fest

then 2 hr later i would eat or drink a fruit juice

and i eat or drink a fruit juice every 2 hours

i kept losing weight too fast i had to stop, i keep missing my eating cycle and end up eating 3 times a day instead of 6, and thats not giving me enough calories.

Might as well just gnaw on the table leg. Provided that it's a wooden table.
