What are the health benefits of a vegan diet?

Serious answers only, please. What are the health benefits of a vegan diet?
EASY , natural, and healthy. What are the health benefits of a vegan diet?
I will address veganism rather than just a diet. The health benefits would be immense. No animals would have to suffer or die or be exploited or treated as property for your lifestyle.

As Isaac Bashevis Singer said:

I did not become a vegetarian for my health, I did it for the health of the chickens.
a well planned vegan diet can be very healthy. the people that are saying that it can;t probably don't know what they're talking about. Even the American Dietetic Association says that a well planned vegan diet is appropriate for all ages:http://www.eatright.org/about/content.as鈥?/a>

a healthy vegan diet can improve your cardiovascular health and lower your risk for many diseases, such as type 2 diabetes:http://www.nursingdegree.net/blog/19/57-鈥?/a>

here is a lin to a vegan starter kit: http://www.veganpeace.com/links/vegan_st鈥?/a>

i'd also like to clear up some confusion. a person's immune system would be lacking antibodies for any that the person has not been exposed to before. this is why native americans were so susceptible to small pox when europeans first arrived, because they had never encountered it and had no antibodies to fight it. it has nothing to do with being vegan.
good luck :)What are the health benefits of a vegan diet?
A vegan diet is a cholesterol free diet. So, assuming that someone is eating a healthy, balanced, vegan diet, then the health benefits would be a decrease in the risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes and cancer. Vegans also tend to keep their blood lipid levels and body weight closer to the desirable levels.

Its very healthy (unless, of course, a vegan smokes, drinks or eats a lot of processed junk food).
there aren't any. meat offers protein that veggies and fruits don't offer...

my dad once knew a guy who was a vegan and exercised all the time and was super super healthy and he went to thailand and got this really innocent bug and got really sick... he got better but he died like a year later because his immune system didn't have any antibodies to fight off the bug and it made him even more vulnerable to other illnesses...

so its no better than a meat diet except for the moral reasoning...What are the health benefits of a vegan diet?
