Is there a new media consciousness about Vegan diet?

On television in the past week, Dr. Oz and Ellen have unabashed experts who recommended a total vegan diet (avoiding milk and meat completely).

I've never seen this before on mass media in the USA. Is this a new trend? The research of Dr. T. Colin Campbell has largely been ignored by the media. Is there a new media consciousness about Vegan diet?
Oh god the media in USA is the worst organization in the world. Americans don't even know where Ankara is, they are the most ill-informed people in the world and the media is totally stupid and brainwashed the entire population.

If Oprah says something is so- 50% of the population will believe it too.

If there is a new awareness of veganism, then great. But seriously, if it takes crappy talk show morons like Dr OZ to say it, that just proves the total ignorance in America- which is founded by cattle farmers from Texas.

Good thing it is, even if brought to the collective American mind by a chat show doctor.

Lets not pretend Americans are stupid and can barely read.

If it stops the obesity mindset and cheese on everything then good.

If it means a few people think outsude their junkfood box then good.

Hopefully some day very soon, revolting meateaters will be derided like vegan eaters have been in the past.Is there a new media consciousness about Vegan diet?
Recommending one diet for an entire group of people with differing dietary needs is foolish, listening to it is even more foolish. Is there a new media consciousness about Vegan diet?
doubt it. don't listen to thoses suburban pansiesIs there a new media consciousness about Vegan diet?
I think so and the best example of it was when President Obama answered a question regarding veganism at a town hall meeting here in Florida during his campaign. There is so much research coming out regarding the negative impact of lifestock production on human health and the environment that it is hard for the media to ignore.
I don't know if it's a trend yet. My husband brought home a magazine from a trip to Malaysia which had a full article of a few pages describing the different kinds of vegetarian diets. Of course, the writer was muslim, so didn't specify which diet you should follow per se, but muslims generally eat meat, and are not supposed to restrict their diets to no meat as a religious observance. I guess just keep watching the trends that are on tv, and so forth, to see if it is becoming more commonly touted by real doctors. I doubt if this would be the case though.
