How do I go on a vegan diet and still get all the nutrients I need?

One of my friend's family has gone on a vegan diet. I did some research on vegans and it sounds like a great way to eat, but how do you still get all the nutrients? Without meat how are you getting protien and calcium without the dairy? How do you know if somethings processed or not? I honestly know just about nothing about food (calories, fiber, or what any of this really is) so i need it straight forward please. Thanks. How do I go on a vegan diet and still get all the nutrients I need?
vegans consume FRESH fruits and vegetables which are great sources of important nutrients like calcium, fiber, iron, potassium, vitamin a and c. Garlic and mustard spinach have calcium.Dont buy chips, candies, canned goods these are all processed food. How do I go on a vegan diet and still get all the nutrients I need?
It is possible to get all the nutrients you need on a vegan (no meat, seafood, milk products, or eggs) diet. You can get your calcium and vitamin D from soy, rice, or almond milks. You can get protein, iron, and vitamin B12 from beans, tofu, and fortified foods. There are many products in the natural foods section of your grocery especially developed for vegans to help them meet their vitamin needs. If you want to do this long term and make sure you meet all of your nutrient needs, I suggest you meet with a dietitian to get a plan specific for you.
