Will a raw vegan diet help me too lose weight?

I want to go on a raw vegan diet, but I'm worried it might make me fat. Is there such a thing as too much fruit? Will too many fruits make me fat due to the high sugars found in fruits?Will a raw vegan diet help me too lose weight?
try the lil jack workout http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKCGe2Ezr… it really worksWill a raw vegan diet help me too lose weight?
I found this on this website. There are more tips and info.

1. If what you are eating has less than 1 carb, count it as 1 carb just to be sure.

2. Totally avoid caffine at least for the first two weeks on the program.

3. Drink a MINIMUM of 8 glasses of plain water or seltzer daily.

4. Don't weigh yourself more than once a week

5. Take starting measurements as well as weight - sometimes you'll lose inches before pounds

6. Avoid any type of "low carb" sweetener for the first two weeks

7. Don't compare your loss to someone else's - this is a YMMV thing (your milage may vary)

8. Stalls are common around the third week so don't panic

9. If you follow your plan to the T and don't lose, consider Candida as a possibility and avoid vinegar, cheese, mushrooms and any other fermented food

10. Have bloodwork done before starting so you have a comparison

11. Cholesterol can be elevated in the first few weeks til your body adjusts - make sure your doctor knows that you're doing low carb and when you started

12. Don't blame the diet if you don't read your plan book -- blame the diet if you don't read the labels -- Don't blame the diet if you don't follow the diet
Yes a Raw Vegan Diet will help you to lose weight, it will also give you an beautiful energy boost, help cleanse the body of toxins and help clear up skin ailments - in short - you will know what it feels like to feel healthy and alive. The human body was not designed to eat the food that many people eat today the standard western diet ( with our grinding teeth, alkaline bodies and long digestive tract- we are pure and simple herbivores). We cannot absorb the calcium in cows milk, it in fact leaches calcium from our bodies , cows milk protein or casein is actually found in some glues. Proteins found in dead flesh - meat, also are not tolerated or digested properly by humans, it creates sluggish digestion, releases carcinogens and causes all manner of problems. Cooking food, robs fruit and veg of all the vital nutrients that are so good for us, this too inhibits digestion and health. One cooked potato has over 400 unidentified harmful enzymes. Just think of all the rest! And when you look at it in a global view the human species is the only animal on this planet that cooks its food, and is the only animal on this planet that suffers the wide range of cancers and illnesses that we do (this cant just be because we are more intelligent and have opposable thumbs!)

The amount of fruit you would need to eat per day to make yourself fat on a raw vegan diet would be astronomical eg 10kg of bananas etc. The Key to becoming and eating a raw vegan diet is listening to your body. Eat when you are hungry. Make sure you get a good mixture of green leafy veg, mixed veg and fruit and try to get organic where ever possible, organic produce is by far the best way to health. Like anything, too much of one thing is not going to help you get all the nutrients you require.

Why not start the day with a green smoothie - blend 1 banana, 2 handfuls of english spinach and a handful of Microgreens (sunflower shoots, snowpea shoots etc) and 1/2 a cucumber with 500ml of water. Drink this throughout the morning, when you get hungry (this keeps me satiated until around noon) have some fruit, make a fruit salad or have a mono-meal (just water-melon or just mangoes) until you are full. At dinner time, have a huge salad, chuck mixed lettuce, tomatoes, shoots, celery.. anything you can think of - just a BIG salad until you are full. Make sure you hydrate yourself too, filtered water drink it throughout the day .

When it comes to nuts and seeds - again moderation.. this is where the fats hide!! Avocados too! try and limit your intake to every few of days, and when you do, a handful of raw bio nuts / and avocado will give you the essential fatty acids you need.

When you become more confident mix it up a little, create some raw sensation, there are HEAPS of resources for you to find recipes and guidance.

and just google raw vegan community to find a suitable support network... you can do it and I guarantee that if you stick to it and really embrace this lifestyle change you will truly feel alive and well!!Will a raw vegan diet help me too lose weight?
No! You need to eat foods that humans were meant to eat (and burn fat on). Raw foods are good in moderation and can be really good for a period of cleansing. But as a lifestyle with no end it's just not healthy.

You need to limit carbs and sugars - it's insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome that cause weight problems. Processed carbs are the big issue but grains contribute to the problem too.

It's *not* about counting calories or going on extreme raw diets (though again that can be good for a period of cleansing) - those things will help you lose water and *muscle* - you don't want to lose your muscle!

You want to burn fat!

How to lose weight naturally has been in debate for years.

Some say low carb. Some say high carb. Some say it's how much food. Some say it's how much exercise. But none of these covers the whole picture.

How to lose weight naturally is not rocket science. It just takes accepting the facts of these seven natural laws of weight loss, plus good old-fashioned stick-to-itiveness.

Little Tricks To Help You Lose Weight Fast

Yeah we all know that we are supposed to cut calories, do cardio and hit the gym to get in shape, but there are lots of little tricks you shouldn't ignore if you want to slim down quick.

Take The Stairs Taking the stairs instead of the elevator every day can help you burn some extra calories. It may not seem like a lot but it adds up. Over a period of a year, taking the stairs can burn off an extra five lbs. of fat.
Find an online weight-loss buddy. A University of Vermont study found that online weight-loss buddies help you keep the weight off. The researchers followed volunteers for 18 months. Those assigned to an Internet-based weight maintenance program sustained their weight loss better than those who met face-to-face in a support group.
Today there is too much information available on losing weight that has become more confusing and sometimes difficult to follow. It's actually very easy to lose weight if you follow my weight loss tips.

* Be in right frame of mind

* Eat whole food

* Eat fresh fruit

* Drink enough water

* Always chew your food

* Take small meals

* Include protein at meal

* Shut off TV while eating

* Increase your physical activity
The best and healthiest way to lose weight is the old school way-exercise and watch caloric intake.

If you deprive yourself of fruit, healthy fats...you'll just end up gaining back those pounds once those food groups are reintroduced into your diet. It's just not realistic.
Here are my ten top tips to tip the scales your way:

CREATE YOUR OWN VIRTUAL REALITY.

# EAT NUTRITIOUS WHOLE FOODS.

# ELIMINATE HIGH GLYCEMIC FOODS.

# DRINK PLENTY OF PURE LIQUIDS.

# MOVE YOUR BODY. BUILD MUSCLE.

# INCREASE HIGH FIBER FOODS.

# CUT OUT BAD FATS, ADD GOOD ONES.

# ENJOY DOING IT YOUR WAY.

# HAVE A SIMPLE ORGANIZED PLAN.

# FORGIVE YOURSELF AND MOVE ON.
good tip is eat about 4-5 times a day, very light servings, include fruits veggies proteins (anything that walks on 2 legs or none) like chicken, or fish. Don't eat past 7:00pm. and exercise about 1 hour a day and you should be straight.
Excess weight or obesity is by far the number one health concern in this country.

Sixty percent of Americans are either overweight or obese, including over 20 percent of teenagers.

All are at risk for serious physical and emotional health problems.
no i wont, because fruit isnt the only thing vegans eat

so as long as you pick a variety of healthy foods to eat mixed with a conststant work out then youll lose weight ^^
yes it will but as soon as you begin to eat 'normally' again you may gain the weight
of course it will. it's only raw freaking food. duh
I'm not trying to convert anyone to being a meat eater only health conscious. Starches, sugar, fruit do not promote weight loss, they do promote weight gain. As a vegan you need to be vigilant to meeting your protein requirements. I have major concerns about soy products effecting thyroid health.

I would suggest you convert your diet to more of a fat based (mainly coconut oil %26amp; olive oil) diet with much more low glycemic vegetables. Stay vigilant about meeting your protein requirements but try to keep your carbs %26lt;9grams per hour. I would suggest not eating many starches that don't significantly contribute to protein requirements. Significantly increase your consumption of nuts (peanuts are a legume not a nut - peanuts are fine, just realize the difference), flax seeds, chia seeds, spirulina. Spirulina %26amp; Quinoa are also a good complete vegetarian protein sources.

Simple carbohydrates (sugar, flour, bread, cereal, pasta, potatoes, rice) trigger insulin which can store the calories eaten into fat. The more protein the more the fat burning hormone glucagon is released. The more carbohydrate the more the fat storage hormone insulin is released.

High insulin levels promote inflammation, weight gain, hunger %26amp; unbalance other hormones. Controlling insulin levels will balance out other hormones %26amp; allow human growth hormone (HGH) to be produced naturally so lean muscle will be gained even without exercise. Any exercise will greatly increase muscle mass with high HGH levels.

You have chosen a way of eating that needs you to know a great deal about nutrition and how the body processes foods. I wouldn't try to dissuade you but encourage you to educate yourself fully. Weight gain is a symptom of a problem, not the problem.

I would highly suggest chia seeds - 3.5 oz is nearly 500 calories, half calories from fat (high in Omega3 fatty acids) %26amp; 16grams of COMPLETE protein for 6grams carbs %26amp; 63% DV Calcium - 95% Phosphorus - 23% Zinc - 9% Copper - 108% Manganese.

info on chia seeds

http://www.nutritiondata.com/facts/nut-a…

Chia seeds sound so expensive but 1# will make 10# food - Amazon.com has couple lbs. for $16 shipped to you. I buy in bulk (24#) from getchia.com for $6# with free shipping.

Faux tapioca - 1 cup of water %26amp; add cup of chia seeds, after they have started to absorb the water, add in 4 cans of coconut milk %26amp; sweetener if you like and mix it all in. Can be eaten after an hour but will be better tomorrow. Cream a pkg. of cream cheese into a can of pumpkin and add to the faux tapioca for an even more nutritious pumpkin pie pudding.

Highly nutritious foods you should consider: sprouts, spirulina, paprika, turnip greens, mustard greens, kale, garlic, brewers yeast, raw almonds, ground flax seeds %26amp; chia seeds.

Paprika - 1 Tablespoon = 20 cal = 71% DV Vit.A - 8% DV Vit.C - 10% DV Vit.E - 14% DV Vit.B6 - 9% DV Iron %26amp; others way too many to list.

Brewer's Yeast Powder - Two tblspns. provide a whole lot of nutrition! 158% RDA Chromium - 90% Selenium - 88% B2 - 80% B1 - 50% Copper - 50% Niacin - 40% B6 %26amp; others way too many to list. It tastes peanutty to me. I have been adding it to sesame butter, a lil raw honey, coconut cream %26amp; coconut oil, powdered whey and tastes like peanut butter to me!

Raw nuts are living and full of the energy of life and should be capable of building a tree. Roasted nuts are dead %26amp; they may still provide some nutrients, but none can compare to the nutrients and enzymes from a live food.

Unfortunately, raw does not necessarily mean living.

For example - Commercially sold almonds are now required to be pasteurized turning a live food into a dead one. You can not sprout an almond that has been irradiated. I buy my almonds direct from growers off ebay. I get 20# for less than $3# including shipping.

April 6, 2007 - Small-scale farmers, retailers, and consumers are outraged over a new federal regulation that will require all almonds grown in California to be sterilized with various “pasteurization” techniques. The rule, which the USDA quietly developed in response to outbreaks of Salmonella in 2001 and 2004, traced to raw almonds, mandates that all almonds undergo a sterilization process that includes chemical and/or high-temperature treatments.

The only exemption to these new regulations will be ... small-scale growers who can sell truly raw almonds but only direct to the public

Almonds- 3.5oz - 575 cal - 72% calories from fat for 10gram carb %26amp; 26% DV Calcium - 48% Phosphorus - 21% Zinc - 50% Copper - 114% Manganese - 4% Selenium - 67% Magnesium - 21% Iron - 14% Thiamin - 60% B2 Riboflavin - 17% B3 Niacin - 7% Vit.B6 - 12% Folate - 5% Vit.B5.- 131% Vit.E - Potassium 20%

Brazil Nuts- 3.5oz - 656 cal - 85% calories from fat for 4gram carb %26amp; 16% DV Calcium - 73% Phosphorus - 27% Zinc - 87% Copper - 61% Manganese - 2739% Selenium - 94% Magnesium - 13% Iron - 41% Thiamin - 2% B2 Riboflavin - 1% B3 Niacin - 5% Vit.B6 - 5% Folate - 2% Vit.B5.- 29
