Is vegan diet making me poorly?

I switched to a vegan diet about a 10 days ago. Im now having headachs, hot flushes and have had diarrhea today. Is this my body getting use to the food change?. If anyone knows anything to stop this i would be greatful. Thank youIs vegan diet making me poorly?
Lol, "your body needs meats and cheeses"....yeah, no.

Did you do any research before going vegan? Some people go vegan without making sure they know where to get their nutrition, that's never good. Make sure to get all your nutrients and this should stop. You don't need meat/dairy/eggs to be healthy. Here's some sites to help you out:

Good luck!Is vegan diet making me poorly?
Did you go straight from omnivorism to veganism in one day? That could maybe be throwing your body off but it's more likely you have the flu. A balanced vegan diet shouldn't make you sick.
Umm I'm not a doctor but I do know your body needs meats and cheeses. You can take iron supplements every day, and calcium, vitamin D supplements as well. Like I said I'm not a doctor, but my mom went on a carb-free diet and she had the same problems as well. You'll get used to it. I hope :)Is vegan diet making me poorly?
Your body does need to adapt to the change in your diet. It might also be that you need more supplements in your diet. I was once vegetarian and had been for many years before i began to have pains in my stomach, felt ill and tired after a short walk. I went to the doctors and found out i was lacking in a variety of vitamins and minerals and i developed a number of problems associated with iron deficiency. I am no longer a vegetarian but i agree with the moral and ethical reasons for doing so it justwasn'tt for me. I highly recommend you do your homework and ensure you get all the minerals etc your body needs in order to stay healthy because meat is a great source of many bodily nutrients important in a number of processess. I hope you feel better soon :) x
you may be detoxingIs vegan diet making me poorly?
you bet your life it is your body needs vitamins of some kind you can go on a diet without being to drastic
^^^^^^^^^^

You heard it here first people, your body NEEDS meats and CHEESES.

FFS!!

Your body is just adjusting to the change, do a bit of research on balancing out your diet a bit more and you should be fine being vegan
Nope. Vegan diet as such does not make you poorly. I assume you have done all the research on protein you need and eat plenty and educated. Therefore it is just the change.. as if you all of sudden would go from being a vegetarian to the Atkins. Give it another 7 days and you will be fine.

Having said that..your last sentence about the vitamin pills makes me wonder if you have really done your research..you dont need them either if you eat properly ;-)
hey! it has nothing to do with you being vegan, really. I was vegetarian for 4 years and then BANG one day just STOPPED completely eating cheese, milk, eggs, ect and i was fine :D

maybe let your body adjust more but i really dont think its from begin vegan
You need to make sure you're getting a balanced, healthy diet. If you are not careful as a new vegan, yes, you can start to feel poor. But you can change this very easily, by getting the right amounts of fruits and veggies, getting full proteins, enough fiber, etc. There is information all over google if that's what floats your boat, or you can see a nutritionist. If you're still feeling sick after you manage your diet, it could be a virus, but go see the doc anyway.
There could be a number of reasons for this.

You could just be getting ill - it happens.

You could be detoxing - especially if you used to have a lot of dairy in your diet and were slightly intolerant without realising it.

Your digestive system may be struggling to adapt to the changes. There is a complex mix of micro-organisms in your digestive system that work in harmony with your diet to digest your food. It may be that there is an overbalance of harmful bacteria that are breaking down now that your diet has changed, and your system is eliminating them. Or it may be that your body has not adapted yet to the increase in fibre and plant based protiens. But it will re-harmonise in time. Try soya yoghurt to settle things down, and drink plenty of water.

If the problem persists then I would consult a nutritional doctor with experience of vegan diets. There is still a lot of ignorance in the medical profession about veganism (but to be fair, they probably treat quite a few of vegans who become malnourished too).

Obviously if your symptoms become much worse you do need to see a doctor.
Oh definitely not. A vegan diet will most likely affect your metabolism rate because meats and dairy/eggs aren't natural, it takes several days to digest them. Whereas in a vegan diet it takes no more than a day if eaten before 7PM.
the best diet is the south beach diet honestly
I would recommend start eating meat and dairy again.
