What is a Vegan diet? Is it the same as going Vegan?

I've heard of people going vegan to lose weight and then others going on a vegan diet to lose weight? Is a 'vegan diet' just going vegan. If not, what are the restrictions that make it apart from a regular vegan lifestyle?

I'm confused so thanx for your help. What is a Vegan diet? Is it the same as going Vegan?
u can do a vegan diet or like my friend choose it as a lifestyle some are so strict that they dont eat any processed foods...like no man made foods only things likeveges nuts fruits and bread, rice all grains relli but sugar ceral

A Vegan Diet is just going Vegan for the amount of time you are dieting.
almost the same

going vegan means becoming a vegatarian..until they cant take it anymore or forever

going on a vegan diet means becoming a vegetarian until you lose the weight you want offWhat is a Vegan diet? Is it the same as going Vegan?

Going Vegan and going on a Vegan Diet is the same thing. They both mean that the person is become and strict vegitarian. This means no milk, eggs, or fish. I say this because there are several types of of vegitarianism. First there is vegan. Then there is octo-vegitarainism, pesca-vegitarianism, lacto-vegitarianism, and then there are combinations of any 2 or all 3 of the three less strict forms of vegitarianism.
Oh boy...ok vegan diet and becoming vegan are the same but being a vegetarian is diffeent! Vegans eat absolutely NO animal products including dairy nor will wear ANYTHING made from animals (leather, furs etc). Vegetarians will usually include some dairy and sometimes fish or poulrty products in their diet. Long term veganism is extremely unhealthy as there are certain vitamins and minerals you can really only get or absorb from animals/animal products and not found in most vegetable products, vitamin K is one however there is a type of kelp that has it...ewww...all things in moderation is what I say. Plus diets don't work, make a life style change of eatting healthy by adding more natural fruits, vegetables, whole grains and small amount of meats into your diet and cutting out thew white starches and sugars! Do not forget cardio exercise walkin is great!
i think they are the same you should go vegan i am a vegan i love it if you want to try it go t Peta.com hope i helped=^..^=
