How can I keep up a balanced vegan diet?

Okay so I just recently became a vegan and its been 3 weeks worth of fruits/veggies, wheat tortillas with salsa/fake turkey slices, soy milk, and some more fruits/veggies. I am constantly hungry and I really would like to stay vegan but I just don't know what I can do to have a balanced diet while getting all the vitamins and other stuff I need to be healthy...any tips would be greatly appreciated, thanks! How can I keep up a balanced vegan diet?
i follow the 'eat to live' diet by joel fuhrman. you can read his book. it's life changing... or you can just follow this simple list:

each day you need to eat 3 servings of fruit (i have one for each meal, breakfast, lunch %26amp; dinner), 2 servings of raw veggies (like a big salad... i have 1 for lunch %26amp; 1 for dinner), 1 serving of cooked starchy vegetable (potatoes, carrots or something starchy like that), 1 serving of omegas (i usually throw a handful of walnuts on my salad and that takes care of that. you can also use flax oil in your dressing to get your omega intake or even add ground flaxseed to a smoothie.), %26amp; finally 1 serving of beans (this can be your traditional beans-pinto, navy, etc.-or tofu which comes from soyBEANS).

this combo of food will ensure you get everything you need. if something is missing, your body can tell and will create "cravings" to get you to eat more in hopes of getting what it needs. if you eat the wrong thing... meaning you don't eat what it is that your body is missing, you will just be hungry again because your body will still try to get that thing it's missing. i follow this diet everyday and by the end of the day my body is soooo satisfied that i literally am tired of eating. i don't want another bit of food. that's the part that is life changing. in the past, i'd always go to bed feeling like i still wanted something, but would feel guilty if i ate right before bed.

i think one of the keys to this diet is that it contains lots of fiber. fiber makes you feel full %26amp; keeps you feeling full longer.

give it a try for a week. i know you'll be satisfied.

btw, i do add a "cheat item" in every other day or so to maintain my sanity. occasionally i will have potato chips or a cupcake or something like that. How can I keep up a balanced vegan diet?
Add in some nuts, almond butter, mix crumbled tofu, salsa, and tomatoes, and beans for your tortillas. Try whole wheat tortillas. Add in some refried beans, try chickpeas in salads and protein shakes
Be careful. If you are hungry, it could be because you are overcoming some food addictions, but it could also be that you are hungry!

I would recommend that if you are going to go vegan, you should eat plenty of nuts, beans and whole grains. Fake turkey slices are heavily processed, as are many other "health foods" so that may actually lead you away from your goal.

Which leads to the question, what is your goal? Is there a reason why you feel you don't want at least to eat milk or eggs? Eating a really pure (unprocessed) diet, including dairy is probably more nutritious and fun than being hungry, while eating more processed, vegan foods.

Above all, go gradually. If you truly want to be vegan give yourself plenty of time to transition. An occasional dairy or fish food may aid you in achieving a long term goal. Rushing head long will probably wind up backfiring.

One other thing, I hope you enjoy cooking. If you rely on processed or prepared foods chances are your diet will not be a healthy one. Good food comes form your kitchen.

Good luck. How can I keep up a balanced vegan diet?
IT looks like you may not be getting enough grains and fats. That could keep you feeling hungry. Some ideas might be baked potatoes or hummus on pita bread with veggies on top fold in half and eat like a taco. You could make burritos with some quinoa cooked with salsa and black beans. Quinoa is very healthy and cooks in 15 minutes. To the burritos add some avocado or olives. Here is the vegan food pyramid. Hope it helps. Also add some peanut butter and nuts.
Well, first of all, it's all up to you to experiment, try new recipes, etc. and find out what it is that you like, enjoy, dislike, etc. You can't just quit eating a whole diet and start eating a entirely different diet all in a few weeks. It's going to take time for you to un-learn what you already know, and learn a new way of eating etc.

But your rule of thumb should be:

1. eat food that is as close to it's natural state as possible (i.e. fresh picked, organic, raw).

2. eat a varied diet, but not at one meal (i.e. mixing different foods at one meal will cause indigestion - e.g. oranges and soymilk.)

3. Include good fats in your diet (i.e. cold pressed organic oils, nuts, etc.)

4. Learn about which foods will help improve your digestion (raw foods, fermented foods, soy yoghurt, etc.) and those that will hinder it (processed white flour, white sugar, white vinegar, antibiotics, etc.).

5. Include pure water in your diet; lots of it; carry a bottle around with you to stay hydrated.

6. Exercise

7. You should research (especially if you are female) well ahead of time (years ahead would be best) all about natural birth, midwifery, foods that will help/hinder a natural birth, foods that will help/hinder breastfeeding, foods that should or should not be eaten before, during, and after birth, etc. Remember, you are what you eat and genetics are not set in stone, genetics change as you change, and what you eat will affect the baby from conception to breastfeeding and beyond. How can I keep up a balanced vegan diet?
i don't know.i'm sorry.
You need to up your protein at most meals. Just make sure that you add a variety of beans and brown rice (or another whole grain) to most meals. Dark green leafy vegetables (Kale, Spinach, and so on) also help. Nuts help.

A green smoothie is awesome. I started to add beans and rice to my smoothies so that they would keep me full.

By the way, I'd can the soy milk.(pun) They usually add high fructose corn syrup which will increase your appetite. Also, the soy product may be genetically modified. For that reason, I avoid corn, soy, and wheat products.

Calcium is best obtained by eating leafy green vegetables. Do not take calcium supplements. Getting sunshine on your skin should allow your body to manufacture what you need for vitamin D. Otherwise, take a supplement for vitamin D.

You might also consider a supplement for Omega-3 and B12.
eat meat. its yummy and has protein for your brain. people suffer when they don't get meat in their diet. Fish and chicken is good for you. the bible says so.
