Does anyone know of any reputable journal articles concerning a vegan diet?

Peer reviewed, written by doctors, etc...something that concerns a vegan diet. It can be both positive or negative, it is fine. All information is welcomed, just anything you have found interesting.Does anyone know of any reputable journal articles concerning a vegan diet?
You might want to take a look at the EPIC study where they recruited a large number of vegetarians and vegans.

Here's a few published articles from EPIC-Oxford you might be interested in:

Here's the bad news:

The EPIC study, as well as The China Study are all observational studies. Since observational studies can only show correlation, not causation, they can not be used to prove anything. The only useful item an observational study can yield is a hypothesis that can be tested in a clinical trial. Only a clinical trial can prove causation.

Let me give you an example. There were a lot of observational studies that indicated women taking hormone replacement therapy (HRT) had lower incidents of heart disease. This led people to think HRT lowered the chance of heart heart disease. Based on this hypothesis, a clinical trial with placebo's was conducted.

In the clinical trial, it was discovered that HRT actually increased heart disease, stroke, and breast cancer.

Why?

It turns out that women who took HRT tended to be from a higher socio-economic class and better educated. In other words, the women that went to their doctors for HRT tended to be healthier than average, thereby distorting the results.

Unfortunately, many books and websites use observational studies as proof that a certain dietary ideology is "correct". That's something we all have to watch out for.Does anyone know of any reputable journal articles concerning a vegan diet?
How would I go about talking to you if you don't allow IM or emails?

By the way, severe insomnia isn't the only reason I've thought many times about ending this life. The reason why there are so many vegans is a clear example, with all the cruelty taking place in the world why would one want to continue living in it? The China Study by Dr. T. Colin Campbell. It's not a journal article - it's a book based on scientific studies and evidence.
