I'm choosing to become vegan for my health and I'm into day 4. I'm feeling pretty sick. Headaches, flu like symptoms and I'm lethargic. I know detox is normal and that everyone is different, but I'm just curious how long it takes for most to finish the detox process.
Thanks! How long (on average) does the detox process continue after going on a vegan diet?
My whole family is vegan and I've seen what you are doing a lot. It's just a cleansing, and it depends on how much cleansing needs to be done. Usually a week. Drink water as you need as this will help you.
Good luck :)How long (on average) does the detox process continue after going on a vegan diet?
I actually started feeling better after becoming vegan, but I have heard of this.
I was taking a type of cleansing laxative, though. And I am majorly lactose intolerant, so I felt crappy before hand.
What kind of meal plan are you following? Are you just going animal free, or are you trying to eat healthy?
Soy is great, but some can't handle it. It will help you get your protien (cow milk protien can actually steal calcium from your body). Another good protien source is organic peanut butter (just make sure there is basically just peanuts in it, maybe a bit of salt, but not big words or sugars) sandwhich on wheat bread. The pb and wheat make a complete protien.
If ya can't do soy, there are other faux dairy options. Rice, almonds, hemp, and so on make up a lot of that.
and at peta2.com they have a lot of resources that will help you with becoming vegan.
Good luck, don't give up!!
