It is definitely so easy to get discouraged :( *hugs* The best thing to do when talking to people is to stay really positive. Don't make them angry at you or they won't listen to what you have to say. It's better to promote vegetarianism because it is more realistic for meat eaters to have a more feasible plan that they can do. And tell people that even reducing meat is a step, and becoming pescatarian (only fish) is great too. Because really, ANYTHING is better than nothing!!! Even if vegetarian/vegan is ideal.
Here are some tips on how to spread the word:
1. Order animal rights stickers from peta2.com. They are FREE. You just have to give them your address. They are super cute, and you can stick them everywhere- your binder, locker, notebooks, etc. People will notice them and maybe ask you about it.
2. Are there any other vegetarians in your school?? If so, you should start a club! Then you can have a whole bunch of animal rights events on campus to raise awareness.
3. Take every opportunity to explain to people why you are vegan. Throw some facts in. Eating meat produces more green house gases than all the SUVs, cars, trucks, planes, and ships in the WORLD combined. Eating meat is unhealthy!!! and animals suffer and are tortured... look up some gruesome facts if you can handle it and memorize them!
4. Any course in which you could do a project about vegetarianism?? Try to find any opportunity! And you can try to show your class a section of the movie "Earthlings" (the part that focuses on meat)... might be tricky to find an opportunity though!
5.. Be prepared for every argument!!!
Ex 1: "well animals in the wild kill each other"
You can tell them all the reasons why it is different... animals operate only on instinct, whereas we do not! and an animal hunting another animal needs it to live, we do not. AND there is no factory farming involved. The animal was not kept in a tiny dirty crate away from her family since birth!
Ex 2: I can't get enough protein!
Women need 48 grams of protein a day and Men need 56. Many meat-eaters actually get too much protein (one dinner of a 6 ounce steak contains 42 grams of protein, almost your entire daily requirement!!!) Instead, you can treat yourself to half a cup of beans, 录 cup of peanuts, 1 cup of yogurt, and 陆 a cup of tofu and get 50 grams of protein. What's a good way to show people that a vegan diet is the way to go?
Share facts about the health benefits of not eating meat and the benefits for animals. Share facts about animal abuse, etc. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people out there that don't have compassion for animals and don't understand how you can do without eating meat. I don't let anyone discourage me because to me they just sound ignorant. Think of all the animals lives you've saved by being a vegan. Your doing a great thing for yourself and animals. That's all that matters.
the best way to show people is by being a good example!
eat healthy, follow what you believe in, show that being vegan doesn't hinder you at all, look healthy, have a heathy weight, don't be anemic.
i think often people see vegans as wimpy, anemic, pale faced kids,
so show people that is not who we are, society has been so brainwashed into think that we "need" meat, that even people hear what vegans abstain from they go crazy, so let them see that your a healthy being!
you could also educate interested people on veganism. but be careful to not cross over the line where you are pushing your views on people because that does more harm than good.
oh and be the bigger person when it comes to arguments with meat-eaters, sometimes they'll feel the need to tease or try to start a fight, just be the better person and walk away show that your above arguing when obviously there wouldn't be any benefit for either party. being a highschooler as well i know how brutal and immature other kids can be.What's a good way to show people that a vegan diet is the way to go?
The best way to convert would be to drop the AR issue, this is coming from a die-hard PETA activist, and prove that its healthier, just as tasty, and can be affordable...
Google the Vegan Food Pyramid. Make PCRM your friends.Take daily vegan multiple viatmins if possible. Get your blood work done every so many months, i suggest 6, to prove that your healthy. And be athletic. Athletes need so much more nourishment than the average American, aka a couch potato. So if an athlete can be healthy on a vegan diet, why wouldn't an average person? You know...The average American is either overweight or obese. The Average American doesn't want to excercise. If we can prove that veganism is a way to get healthy without any where as near the amount of excersice, our diet will be the next Standard....
definitely keep a positive attitude - maybe not so much to convince others, but for your self. ive kinda always thought that a good way to encourage others to take up your example is for them to just see you doing it, and see you enjoying yourself and maybe, hopefully, visibly showing off some of the benefits.
and, im kinda surprised no one's mentioned this one yet, but cook amazing things and invite others to try. take a good dish to a dinner party, or, if you think you can pull it off, throw your own, maybe encourage others to bring things - possibly from a list of pretty easy things to make that everyone likes like hummus and whatnot, and then try to make a few things of your own.
if you decide to go this route, i'd definitely recommend you bust out the secret weapon: vegan cheesecake!
good luck! What's a good way to show people that a vegan diet is the way to go?
Heyy i know exactly how you feel [:
I started being a vegan half a year ago when i was 15 and pretty much it wasn't easy at the start.
Many do not understand why vegetarians or vegans wanted to exist.
They just don't give a bother about animal welfare or issues, just yet i think, and they always have issues with our diet , which is pretty annoying when it gets really hard to explain everything to them when you know u have done ample research or effort you have put in to understanding about choosing a vegan lifestyle.
I want to spread awareness about choosing a cruelty-free lifestyle, but there is a specific way of doing so for different types of people, u see.
Firstly if you have friends who are animal lovers, you can encourage them to join some volunteering activities at the local animal shelters. Some have various team to work on that aims to educate kids or people from the public about animals cruelty. If given a opportunities, helping out on roadshows,hands-on projects give a platform for them to learn about stories behind factories farming, animal testing etc.
Secondly , okay i know this is a little stupid but whenever i'm hanging out with my good friends, in handbags, poultry sections if i happened to walkk by or eating out i'll use the chance to talk to them about how these products were made from, blahblahblah haha. And surprisely they ain't hesistant about knowing it. Many actually do not know about such cruelty behind the things that they using in their daily lives.
And lastly, which is the very important factor of all. It is that you have to take special care of yourself , ensure you are eating the right and healthy way. This is the most best way you can prove to your family and friends that cruelty-free lifestyle is good for the animals and yourself. In such a wayy , they will be influenced by you to do the same too !
Okayy i think i've said enough i hope i've answered you're question and remember don't be discouraged, and never give up. All the best. [:
The most anyone can ever hope to accomplish is taking care of their own house. If your example influences those around you then it's a bonus. Concentrate on doing what is important to you. As you get older you will find yourself in a community of people that feel much the same as you because you have built those contacts and relationships by being involved in social groups that reflect your intentions and the way you want to live.
prove them wrong
keep doing what u are
lol and flaunt ur smexi veganness
.....just dont push people
thats what i do and im known as the ''healthy one'' in our group
and they love all my food like seriously i cant eat without them eyeing it like a puppydog
I think vegetarianism is a lot healthier and a lot easier. Milk and eggs are really good for you, and hard to avoid.

Not everyone wants to live on a diet of just watery porridge and pureed asparagus. A lot of people in the world will remain omnivores, as we humans are supposed to be.
Eat a steak
