I want to be vegan, but I'm not allowed to eat soy or evening primrose oil at all and I'm also not allowed to have as many carbs as most people (doctors orders). Can anyone tell me if it's possible for me to get the required nutrients from a vegan diet with those restrictions?Want to be vegan but have other diet restrictions?
absolutely. there are a number of ways to get your proper protein by adding legumes such as peas, beans, lentils... Also there's a brand of meat substitute called quorn which tastes freaking delicious and is soy free. I'd recommend checking out a whole foods market in your area and seeing your options. It also can't hurt to take a supplement if you feel there will be something that you're lacking. You can get whole grains easily which affect your carb count differently too. Throw in some fruits and veggies and you're good to go. :) Instead of soy milk there's rice milk or almond milk... there are a ton of choices! I truly think a trip to the store would make you feel better about it. Want to be vegan but have other diet restrictions?
I think so :] Make sure to get enough protien by eating beans, nuts, %26amp; legumes. I don't eat a whole lot of soy, and I am fine. Or if you really wanted to make sure, I'd suggest taking a multi-vitamin.
It is possible to enjoy a vegan diet with all those restrictions. Soy free, primrose oil free, carrots will provide you with everything you needWant to be vegan but have other diet restrictions?
Vegan diets, which contain no animal products (meat, dairy, eggs, or other animal products), are even healthier than vegetarian diets. Vegan diets contain no cholesterol and even less fat, saturated fat, and calories than vegetarian diets because they exclude dairy and eggs. Scientific research shows that health benefits increase as the amount of food from animal sources in the diet decreases, making vegan diets the healthiest overall.

There is Kelp made from seaweed. It works in most dishes that call for soy or call for soya sauce. Result isn't as good but it works..I've used it when I run out of soya sauce. Kelp has a benefit it contains B12 which is essential for the brain! If you don't get enough B12 you could get alzheimer!
There are coconut products and rice products too.. no reason to prevent you from becoming vegan!
